MAYOR'S POOL TOURNAMENT – PRMOTING A HEALTHY COMPETITIVE ATTITUDE

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING ON SATURDAY

On Saturday, the 16th September 2023 Council will hold the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Gobolondlo Hall. Through this meeting, the organization is able to meet with its stakeholders from various sectors in order to report back to them about performance of previous financial year and also input from the stakeholders on how to improve going forward.

PAY YOUR RATES AND WIN CAMPAIGN A SUCCESS - OVER E2 MILLION COLLECTED

As guided by the Integrated Development Plan (2019-24), PPTC conducted a "Pay Your Rates and Win campaign" with the aim of encouraging ratepayers to pay their rates on time. The campaign ran from the 1st April 2023 till the 31st July 2023. Ratepayers who paid their rates in full during the mentioned period of the campaign were not only eligible to enter the competition but they were also spared from the interest charges and penalties outlined in the Rating Act, 1995.

NEW BANK DETAILS

Pigg’s Peak Town Council advises ratepayers and other interested stakeholders that she has since added banking options for users with Eswatini Bank and the First National Bank (FNB). The organisation previously had banking accounts only with the Standard Bank. Ratepayers are further advised to use their plot number as reference when making payments.

CONSTRUCTION OF THREE ROADS WORTH OVER E18M UNDERWAY

In a drive to improve service delivery through the upgrade of the town’s infrastructure, Pigg’s Peak Town Council on 16th May 2023, initiated the construction of three (3) major roads within the town; namely road behind Government hospital, Road 1 and Road 2 with a total estimated cost of E18 977 987.21, which we anticipate to be completed in five months

MEET NEW PIGG’S PEAK COUNCILLORS

On Monday, eight (8) new councillors were sworn into office marking the beginning of their five (5) year term as Pigg’s Peak Town Councillors. The swearing in ceremony of the councillors was conducted at the Town Council Boardroom by the Pigg’s Peak Station Commander Dumisani Nzalo.

PAY YOUR RATES IN FULL AND WIN ON OR BEFORE 30TH JULY

As mandated by the Rating Act, 1995 to collect property tax from all ratable properties, Pigg’s Peak Town Council has started running a “Pay Your Rates and Win” campaign, aimed at improving property rates collection both from publicly and privately owned properties in the town of Pigg’s Peak. The campaign will run from the 29th May 2023 till the 30th July and the competition will be a draw entered by qualifying candidates.
