Council Projects
An overview of current and recently completed development projects undertaken by Piggs Peak Town Council in support of urban growth, land administration, and community development.
Survey and Pegging of Nazarene Industrial Park and Residential Township
Council successfully finalized the survey and pegging of the proposed Nazarene Industrial Park and Residential Township — a major milestone towards establishing a new mixed-use development that will drive economic growth and expand the urban area.
The exercise established precise plot boundaries, road reserves, public open spaces, and service corridors in accordance with the approved township layout. Survey beacons were installed at all plot corners and the required records submitted for processing. The project currently awaits approval of the General Plan by the Surveyor General before formal plot registration and allocation can proceed.

Survey and Pegging of Malandalahle Extension (Mbhongampisi)
In collaboration with the Surveyor General's Office, Council completed the survey and pegging of the Malandalahle Extension, translating approved planning layouts into physical demarcations on the ground.
Surveyors undertook detailed field measurements, determined exact property boundaries, and installed beacons to mark each plot corner. The General Plan has since been prepared and submitted, and is currently awaiting approval by the Surveyor General. Once approved, the development will create additional residential opportunities and support Council's objective of addressing the growing demand for serviced land within the urban area.

Macambeni Upgrading Project — Beneficiary Sensitization Meeting
Council, supported by officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, convened a beneficiary sensitization meeting for the Macambeni Upgrading Project to inform plot beneficiaries about the allocation process and their responsibilities.
The meeting outlined payment obligations, ownership requirements, and future development conditions. Beneficiaries were given the opportunity to raise concerns and seek clarification regarding plot ownership and payment obligations. The engagement contributed significantly towards improving beneficiary awareness and ensuring that beneficiaries fully understood their responsibilities under the upgrading programme.
Beacon Identification Exercise — Macambeni Upgrading Project
Following the sensitization meeting, Council engaged the Surveyor General's Office to physically locate and verify plot beacons within the Macambeni Upgrading Project area, demonstrating actual plot boundaries to beneficiaries on the ground.
The exercise enabled beneficiaries to identify the location and extent of their allocated plots, and gave Council the opportunity to assess implementation challenges that may affect future development. This beacon identification exercise is a critical preparatory step ahead of opening internal roads, providing infrastructure, and commencing development activities within the upgraded settlement.
Mangwaneni Upgrading Project — Beneficiary Engagement
Council convened a beneficiary verification and database update exercise for the Mangwaneni Upgrading Project to confirm ownership details, plot allocation status, and payment progress across all 147 plots.
The exercise identified beneficiaries who had fully paid, partially paid, or had outstanding balances, and collected data on demographic profiles. The updated database will improve records management, facilitate tenure administration, and support engagement with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development regarding the formalization of land tenure within Mangwaneni.
