On the 6th February, 2024, PPTC conducted training for fifty (50) food outlets operating in town, aimed at building capacity on public health regulations, encouraging legislative compliance and best practices which will ensure public health and safety. The organization, on routine basis, conducts bi-annual food outlets trainings, however, according to the Environment and Public Health Officer, Mr. Thokozani Seyama, this training was meant to prepare the food handlers for the upcoming food outlets grading this month.
Among other topical items that the handlers were educated on were the importance of food labelling, personal hygiene, housekeeping, proper and consistence usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
