MR1 ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADE COMPLETE- ALLOWS EASY FLOW OF TRAFFIC IN THE TOWN CENTRE

In a drive to improve service delivery, Pigg’s Peak Town Council embarked on a project of constructing underground storm water drains and walkways in September 2021. The project area covered the town center or central business district (C.B.D), starting from the police station till Puma filling station. In terms of length, the area covered is 430 meters.

In spite of the delays witnessed due to unforeseen rainy weathers, the project was successfully completed in May, at a cost of E3 586 819.10. The main objective of this project is to ensure that storm water is discharged properly, to prevent flooding into existing buildings, as previously witnessed while at the same time ensuring that pedestrians walk safely, without interfering with vehicular traffic flow.
