Pigg’s Peak Town Council has once again proved that Quality Service Delivery is an important value of the organisation, through the recent developments in the town’s infrastructure. In May 2023, the organisation initiated a project worth over E18m (18 977 987.21) for the construction of three major roads within the town centre.
These roads are namely; behind Government Hospital, nurses’ home and road leading to Peak Central High school. The project was expected to be complete in November, 9th, however, it was completed before the set timeline. It involved upgrading of approximately 1.5 kilometres of gravel road to bitumen surface road, with surface and underground storm-water drainage and pedestrian walkway. According to the Chief Executive Officer, Mzwandile Ndzinisa, such a development lays a proper foundation for economic development.
“We expect property owners and investors to put up new structures in the town because of the recent road upgrade, since proper road infrastructure acts as an enabler for developer”, he said. At present, Pigg’s Peak residents and business community (privately owned buildings, local school, government offices and government’s institutional housing) enjoy improved access to their properties.
