One of the strategic objectives outlined in Council’s Integrated Development Plan (2019-2024) towards ensuring financial stability, is to maximise rates collection to 80% by 2024 in order to improve service delivery.

Pigg’s Peak property owners are, therefore, reminded that rates for the financial year 2022/2023 are now due and payable.

Property owners are, as well, encouraged to pay their rates before the 30th June 2022 to avoid 15% penalty for late payment.

Ratepayers are also encouraged to make a formal payment arrangement agreement with the Collector of rates/ Town Treasurer.

Payment of rates by instalments is allowed.

Benefits of paying rates by instalment are:

• penalties and late payment interests are not charged when payments are made according to payment agreement.
• allows ratepayers to service other financial obligations with less strain and avoid legal proceedings being instituted against them.
• a ratepayer will receive improved quality service delivery by the town council.
