Who would have thought that during this period Pigg’s Peak would have a multi-storey mall with distinctive eye-catching architectural designs which has changed the face and aesthetics of the town? It is without any doubt that the building which has already started operating has not just changed the face of the town, nor will it only boost the town’s economy, but it will as well, change the lives of the people especially those in the business sector.
One may recall that the space in which the mall has been built was used as an informal trade site and how controversial it was to bring such a project into existence. Today, everyone is excited and appreciative of how the project has accommodated the unemployed youth during construction phase, how it has upgraded business standards for informal traders and how it will create more opportunities for unemployed and those in the business sector. It must be noted that this development is divided into two phases, meaning phase 1 is complete and already housing offices, shops and a restaurant. Phase 2 which is under construction, will house one of the leading grocery chain stores, providing the town’s residents with choice in terms of shopping.
