Through a collaboration with six (6) different schools around Pigg’s Peak, PPTC joined the entire world in commemorating the world environment day on the 5th June 2022 under the theme Only one Earth, encouraging everybody to live sustainably in harmony with nature.
This year’s world environment day was celebrated with the school going children through environmental education, clean-up and indigenous tree planting campaign.

Highlighting the impact of celebrating this day in Pigg’s Peak, the Environment and Public Health Officer, Bongekile Mkhontfo said “it is everyone’s responsibility to take care of the environment by being cautious of their actions and activities that may result in negative environmental impacts”.
