A total of 30 children have graduated for their Early Childhood Care Development education (ECCD) this year. As a way of giving back to the community of Pigg’s Peak, this year the Town Council took care of three hundred and ninety-nine (399) orphaned and vulnerable children from three wards namely; Malandalahle, Mangwaneni and Macambeni.
Council ensures that these children are well fed with balanced meals all year round and offers them with education free of charge. Worth highlighting is that in an effort to eliminate youth unemployment, the local authority, further, provided three young people with employment by hiring them as ECCD teachers. Speaking during the graduation ceremony, Mr. Shabangu from the Ministry of Education, he said the Town Council was doing an impeccable job which will yield positive results for the future of the town and the entire community of Pigg’s Peak. He said education was the foundation and key to success hence investing on education was commendable.
